“I started training with Charlie at the end of 2021 because I wanted to improve my marathon PB. Three years later and I've achieved more than I ever thought possible with my running, all thanks to Charlie's expert guidance and support. She really knows her stuff and tailors her coaching to my personal circumstances and pushes me out of my comfort zone (in a good way). I'm also really enjoying canicross support now Charlie is offering that through her business, and my dogs adore her which is an added bonus! Would recommend Charlie to anyone who wants to improve their running and have a lot of fun in the process.”

“With Charlie's training I also ran an event where I finished 2nd overall after running 38 miles. “

I have been coached by Charlie since 2019. I initially looked for a running coach due to running a lot of Obstacle Course Races, I was looking for guidance and structure to my runs to help me improve overall.

When I started with Charlie I didn't enjoy running and didn't want to venture past 5k due to this. We started training towards a 5k road race with the aim of breaking 20:00 which was my goal. With Charlie's training I achieved a 19:13 5k result.

I started to enjoy my running and we started to look at 10km with my PB at the time being 45 minutes, following the training place that was set I achieved a PB of 41:50.

I continued to train with Charlie and my main goal in 2022 was to finish in a podium position at a Spartan Race, on the first race of the year I came 1st AG and achieved multiple podium positions throughout the year. With Charlie's training I also ran an event where I finished 2nd overall after running 38 miles.

Towards the end of 2022 I decided to enter a half marathon, as we had been training for my Obstacle races throughout the year we hadn't had a structured plan for the Half however I knocked 7 minutes off my time.

Last year I entered the Manchester Marathon, something which I never believed I would do due to my previous feelings towards long distance running. At this point I was really enjoying my running and stuck to the training plan knowing that Charlie would push me to achieve my goal of sub 3:30. She predicted I would finish the marathon in 3:25 and amazingly she was spot on, my first marathon was finished.

Despite getting PBs with Charlie in 5k,10k,1/2 marathon & full marathon the best endorsement I can give is that she has unearthed a love for running that I didn't know I had. The training is varied keeping it fun after 4 years of coaching I am always still looking to improve my running can highly recommend Charlie.

If you are looking to achieve a certain time or have a goal in mind and you put the training in then Charlie will definitely get you that result.

“Thanks Charlie for the self-belief you have given me in my own abilities, for which I will be forever grateful. You made me fall in love with running, all over again.”

“Other than her reputation as a fast local runner, I didn’t know Charlie before she started coaching me. I’m not a new runner but I had never been coached before (I assumed previously coaches were for elite runners 🤣).

In the last two years, my race times are regularly significantly faster (5k time down from 29 from 26 mins, 10k  time from 64 mins to 57, Half 2:30 down to 2:10 and marathon 6:09 down to 4:50). Times which seemed completely impossible previously, now feel relatively comfortable. I still feel that much faster times are ahead of me.

The race times speak for themselves, but aside from that, I’ve always found Charlie to be knowledgeable on all matters related to running, such as running “easy” and fuelling on long runs.

I value her understanding, the care that she puts into the plans and (although I feel she would always support me unequivocally) her honesty if she believes a goal isn’t achievable. She protects me from myself, from me pushing too hard, and I’m injured less often now than I have ever been.

Charlie has transformed my running so much, she also inspired me to want to become a coach myself. I can’t give a bigger compliment than that.

I have thrived on the accountability and structure of the plans, which have always felt varied and interesting.

However, for me (somewhat unexpectedly) it’s not just l been about the running, Charlie is someone I would consider a really good and trusted confidant and friend. Thanks Charlie for the self-belief you have given me in my own abilities, for which I will be forever grateful. You made me fall in love with running, all over again.”
